Privacy policy
What this website collects, why it collects it, and what happens to it.
This policy describes the site as currently built. It needs review by counsel against the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 before launch, and must be updated if analytics, advertising or third-party widgets are ever added.
1. What we collect
Only what you type into a form on this site. There are two forms, and between them they collect:
- your name;
- your mobile number;
- your email address, if you give one on the contact form;
- the locality where the car is or should be serviced;
- the car’s make, and the model and year if you enter them;
- the service you are asking for, and any notes you write.
We ask for these because a mechanic cannot quote a job or reach a car without them. Nothing on this site asks for payment details, and no payment is taken through it.
2. What we do not collect
This site runs no advertising pixels, no session recording, no chat widget and no third-party embeds, and it sets no cookies of its own. There is no login and no user account, so nothing links one visit to another.
The site keeps a strictly local count of how it is used — pages viewed, which service pages are opened, which buttons are clicked, whether a form was completed. These events contain no name, number or anything else you typed, never leave your browser in this build, and are discarded when you close the page. If an analytics provider is ever connected, this page will be updated to say so before that happens.
Your browser stores one item locally, in sessionStorage: the details of a request you have just submitted, so the confirmation page can show them back to you. It is scoped to that browser tab, is erased as soon as that page reads it, and is never sent anywhere by this site.
3. Where form data goes
In this build, nowhere. No request-handling endpoint is connected, so submitting a form transmits nothing and stores nothing on any server. The forms tell you this at the point of submission. When an endpoint is connected, this section must be updated to name the processor and the destination.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
4. How long it is kept
To be completed: the retention period for service requests and enquiries, and the deletion process at the end of it.
5. Who else sees it
To be completed: the list of processors — hosting, CRM, telephony, SMS — that will handle request data once the backend exists. None are in use today.
6. Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted.
To be completed: the grievance officer’s name and contact details, and the response timeline, as required under the DPDP Act.
7. Children
This site is intended for adults arranging car service. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
This policy will be replaced by a reviewed version before launch, and updated whenever what the site collects changes.
